How do you use cloves?

I originally bought them to boil in my kitchen for nothing but the fragrance. Now that I have been exploring Indian cooking, I crush them up with my mortar and pestle, along with cinnamon and other spices, for a garam masala that I use in savory cooking. Yum.
My grandma would stick them in oranges at Christmas time as an air freshener, which I do as well. In recipes? Not much of a fan.
I use cloves when hearing water for tea.
Clove powder mixed with cinnamon powder n brown sugar fried on ham slices makes good, sticky sauce.

I add it to anything that I want to have an instantly earthy and holiday feel - sometimes I put it in pumpkin smoothies, or fruit cobblers. Just a little though - cloves can be quite overpowering!
