What a coincidence..........Blair K.............I just posted after you. I am half Slovenian and also make nut rolls and apple strudel (although I've never tried the dough, I use phyllo dough). I added the site you mentioned to my favorites and will check it out when I have a few minutes. Thanks.

I've made my Mom's cranberry sauce for over 30 years now. Anyone new who trys it always wants the recipe. It's fresh cranberries, sugar, water, apple slices, orange rind and lemon rind. Tart and sweet. It gels as it cools and keeps for at least six months.
  • http://thisishowicook.blogspot...  These are a great appetizer and so easy to make plus our family could not live without this cranberry freeze to round out our Thanksgiving dinner. http://thisishowicook.blogspot...

Cranberry walnut bread is a must in our house at Thanksgiving- or muffins...  Yeah, Muffins work too.   Also, cranberry sauce, dried cranberries in salads and stuffings are pretty good.  Cranapple is a favorite flavor of mine as well...great for pie making.

One of my favorite cocktails is a Seabreeze, this would be a perfect drink for a holiday cocktail party (use regular vodka as my recipe is for Halloween) http://christinascucina.blogsp...
  • Oops.  The link I posted previously is for apple-cranberry potica.  Here is the correct one for apple smoren with brandied cranberries: http://slovenianroots.blogspot...

  • I love dried cranberries!  Have been using them instead of raisins in all sorts of traditional ethnic recipes: potica or Slovenian nut roll,  apple strudel, and this one, apple cranberry smoren: http://slovenianroots.blogspot...
